What We Do
Every Helping Hand Makes a Difference
Whether you’re a skilled crafts-person or you’ve never picked up a hammer, volunteering with Greater Fredericksburg Habitat for Humanity offers you a meaningful way to help families build strength, stability, and self-reliance through affordable home ownership in the Fredericksburg area.
What to Expect: When volunteering for our Micro-Build Projects, you can expect to do anything ranging from painting, window cleaning and carpentry work. Tasks are assigned by our Build Site Manager, John Rosquist, and/or our Construction Program Manager, Emily Berg. No previous construction experience necessary.
Location: These projects will revolve around refurbishing and repairing the restore and main office located at 2378 and 2376 Plank Rd, Fredericksburg VA 22401
Clothing: Wear clothing appropriate for the weather. Don't wear anything with derogatory language. You must wear closed toe shoes. Please wear clothes you do not mind getting dirty.
Inclement Weather: We email updates the week of a build if we suspect we may need to move or cancel your build, so please check your email before your shift. If you have not been notified of any changes for your build, but the weather is questionable the morning of your build, please contact Emily by e-mail to emily.berg@fredhab.org or John Rostquist John.Rostquist@fredhab.org for any changes.
Parking: We ask our volunteers to park in the parking spaces behind the restore/office, go to the door labeled "Office Volunteers".
Arrival/Lunch/Bathrooms: Please be sure to arrive on time to get signed in. If you are signing up for a full day, please plan to pack a lunch or be prepared to purchase one from a local restaurant. We have a refrigerator available to store any cold items. We provide water on site.
Many thanks in advance for dedicating your time and talents to Greater Fredericksburg Habitat for Humanity!
